A full confidential Family Planning Service is available. In addition to fitting the contraceptive implant, providing the contraceptive injection (depo-Provera), pills and patches, Dr McCandless is also providing a coil fitting service within the surgery.
Patients interested in any of the coils available should discuss this at an appointment with her. Coils or intrauterine contraceptive devices can provide contraceptive cover for 3, 5 or 10 years and can be hormonal or non-hormonal. They also have benefits beyond contraceptive purposes such as heavy periods and cycle control.
